Do you really believe the word of God is powerful?
Well, crisis is the perfect time to find out.
Two months ago, I was throwing up my guts from a random virus. I was in the South Island of New Zealand, supposed to be flying back north to Tauranga that week. I'd already been sick longer than I expected, and I was freaking out I wouldn't make my flight. So I did what all wise twenty-something singles do: I texted my mom.
Her reply wasn't “drink Sprite”—but that did happen and it did help. Her reply was slightly different.
Read aloud the “don't fear” verses.
She prayed for me—and sent me her list of 19 Bible verses . If you’ve read my previous post, you know what happened next.
But what can you do in global crisis when you're freaking out and you don't know what's next?
I challenge you to a test: Read these aloud. Maybe multiple times a day. And especially at night. I have a sneaking suspicion you’ve got the time.
So, does the Bible has power to fight your fear and give you courage?
Start reading—it’s time to find out.
